What has happened so far on the program?

I have lost over 7 inches off my waist (and kept it off for 2+ years now). My bench press went from about 50lbs to 175 (and still increasing). Military leg press and calf press are over 500lbs for 5 sets. Arms, chest, shoulders, back, increased muscle mass everywhere.

What do you like most about the program?

It makes working out and dieting very very simple. I make adjustments where I want in my workout routine but I know what WORKS and so I know my changes aren’t for nothing. I’m educated about my workouts and have no doubt that every second in the gym is used in a positive manner.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

I don’t believe hype. Most workout or diet programs are nothing more than hype or something that can’t be maintained for long periods of time. I’m proof that a 35 year old father of 2 young kids that travels sometimes for work can maintain this program for long term.

What are three other benefits of the program?

-The information on your blog is outstanding. Every statement is backed up by research. I know every movement I make in the gym is not a waste of time.

-I don’t get tempted to compete with other guys in the gym or on the street. You can do 50 reps in 30 seconds? Great, I’m building a solid foundation and will pass you quickly in the amount of weight you’re lifting. I also have a lower chance of injury due to poor form or execution.

-Eating food that’s junk is much less tempting for me. I just had an awesome workout, why do I want to kill it with junk? I see progress every week (either in the amount of weight or the amount of reps for EVERY exercise I do EVERY day), why do I want to hinder that progress? However I also know that I can eat junk now and then because it’s about the calories and protein intake much more than “oh no I had a donut!”.

Would you recommend this program? If so, why?

Absolutely. I HATED the gym in the past. I had a bad lower back, bad shoulder and neck pain. I had a growing stomach, no endurance and wasn’t getting any younger. This program gave me focus and clarity on what I needed to do.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Anyone starting (or even currently) on this program should also have goals outside of the weight room. When I started it, I signed up for a 10-12 mile obstacle course event. I did a few smaller events like it to measure my progress. I was able to complete obstacles that I never thought possible (like a giant set of monkey bars that are V-shaped!) because I gained total body strength using this program.
