I'm Peter V. and this is my story
I am a 55yr old from Australia and have been weight training virtually nonstop since I was 19…thats a lot of reps.
I have tried a lot of programs and read many books but was just going through the motions for the last few years until I found BLS on the internet and it inspired me to get serious again. I was also shocked by the photo my wife took of me!
I like the fact that Mike’s book set out a sensible progressive program that was doable and could be tailored to ones situation. It helps that Mike looks like a lifter also!
I liked the idea of intervals and that doing endless cardio is boring and pretty useless anyway and that warmups are essential but must be exercise specific..Most of all Mike points out that, like most things in life, there is no quick fix and that it is a long jouney requiring discipline and commitment.
My before photo was shot last year so there was no 3 month miracle. Mike was very helpful and answered all my questions in detail the next day and also helped develop a program for my wife Sonia who has benefitted from incorporating more weights in her training. My only advice would be to train within the limits of your own unique genetic make up and potential…don’t try and be another Arnie..just the best version of yourself.
It helps of course that you actually enjoy the process of working out and getting bigger, stronger and leaner. I would like to thank Mike for all his help and wish him and his family all the best in the years to come.
P.S. I would also like to thank my lovely wife Sonia who loved me fat or ripped and had to endure countless discussions regarding my last workout!
