I'm Daniel R. and this is my story
What has happened so far on the program?
I read both Mike’s books and followed his advice on gaining muscle (at the gym, 4-6 reps, I used to do 10-12 reps) and nutrition guidance. I still refer back to these books regularly.
How many months’ progress do your pictures represent? What were your stats for each picture?
About 3 years. My lifts changed as follows:
Jan 2014 – 155lbs – 13% body fat
Jan 2017 – 195lbs – 11-12% body fat
Squats – 185 to 335
Deadlifts – 225 to 435
Bench – 195 – 305
What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?
I researched for about a month off and on which book I wanted to buy and out of about 12 finalists, you took top spot because I like your genuine attitude which I still believe is true after listening to a lot of your podcasts and reading a ton of your articles online.
What do you like most about the program?
Most everything was laid out nicely, and it really is great for beginners. Not too much information, just the right amount, not too technical, just the right amount. I really looked forward to reading the book, everything you said made sense and I believed in it.
How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?
I have never tried any others.
How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?
I definitely feel more confident, for sure, in all aspects of life. I also feel like I’m an adult now, it’s basically changed my entire life for the better.
I also feel more confident in social settings and making friends. I think ‘I’m cool’ which is nice. Girls seem to enjoy it more, and I get more matches with online dating.
I think my business has thrived. I’ve gotten more meetings because I look good and take care of my body. I’m also in tune with my nutrition which is great. I always liked to eat healthy, but now its part of my life rather just a hobby.
Who would you recommend this program to and why?
Anyone trying to gain muscle, period.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Weighing food is so much easier than I thought, it’s like second nature now. That was the biggest thing for me at the beginning, but you really do need to know how much you’re eating. When I started, I went from 155 to 175lbs, but couldn’t eat any more, I was just trying to eat a lot.
Then I started weighing my food and realized I wasn’t eating nearly as much as I thought. My Instagram is @dannybooboo0.
