I'm Brad M. and this is my story
What has happened so far on the program?
I’m 20 years old and in 12 months I went from about 155 lbs at around 14% to 155 lbs about 8-9% body fat.
I bulked for about 10 months throughout my freshman year of college and put on about 10 lbs of muscle despite my diet not being too great.
During the last two months of my transformation I cut and lost close to 15 lbs of fat successfully dropping to about 8-9% body fat.
On my cut was when I began to take the dieting very seriously. I tracked my calories and always hit my macros. This was the first time I had ever dropped to the 8-9% body fat range.
My weight has actually gone down a little from when I started the program but my body composition has completely turned around.
I have little body fat with much lean mass. All of my big lifts have gone through the roof especially on all my upper body lifts.
What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?
Previously to buying the book I had read certain excerpts from it and found it to be somewhat like a textbook with kind of bland workouts. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to get into working out during college.
What do you like most about the program?
The program involves a simple yet effective system of training and nutrition that might seem much different than anything you’ve tried in the past but following it is easy and results are bound to come if you stick with it. You even grow to really enjoy the heavy weightlifting in each workout too.
How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?
Compared to other programs, the training may seem somewhat bland at first but when you start seeing the immediate results you will be sold on it. You will also grow to love the workouts due to how quick and how simple they are.
The fact that changing up your routine is not necessary is amazing. Michael Matthews gives you hands down the most simple yet effective routine that ensures that the gym doesn’t take over your life.
At the same time, you can make far better gains than those at the gym who are spending endless hours doing super-sets, drop-sets, tons of isolation exercise with no results.
People are absolutely blown away when I tell them what routine I am doing, since the fitness industry would usually have you believe that purely heavy compound lifting shouldn’t work. It’s very satisfying.
As for the diet, it is just as easy. Flexible dieting allows me to eat pretty much whatever I want as long as I count it and don’t go over certain limits (which might seem hard at first but it gets super easy after the first week or so).
As a college student, I can easily fit in with my friends and go out to eat, go get drinks (when I’m 21 of course 🙂 ) and people won’t even guess that I’m dieting. That’s how relaxed it is.
Muscle for Life has allowed me to build an incredible body and maintain it with ease. Dieting and training are so easy and relaxed that they don’t in the least interfere with my daily social life.
How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?
The physical changes that occurred in my body are the smallest changes that have occurred in my life.
My self-esteem and confidence have gone through the roof (which is a good thing to happen right before sophomore year of college).
My energy levels are consistently high throughout the day and I sleep great at night. I am more productive in all areas of life whether that is school, work, or my relationships.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I’d recommend this to everybody. People always say that they will never get into lifting or the gym life because it just “isn’t for them”.
I was one of those people. But if you stick with the program and see those initial gains, I swear you will be hooked and your life will turn around.
To anybody considering starting, give the program your all for a month or so. You will see changes and, once you do, you will be hooked.
