I followed the Thinner Leaner Stronger program and the pictures are 12 months apart.
My body fat went from 40% to 20%. My weight went from 192 to 136. Deadlift got up to 190 for 10 reps and squats 175 for 10 reps.
I cut for the entire 12 months. My weight from 192 to 136. I got much stronger as the year went on. At the end, I was squatting 175 for 10 reps and deadlifting 190 for 10 reps. I used the catch McArdle calculation found in Thinner Leaner Stronger and made sure my macros were on target every day with the occasional cheat meal.
The 5-day split with occasionally using a three or four-day split to accommodate vacations.
I honestly didn’t think that I could accomplish it. I’ve had personal trainers in the past but just never made much progress. I would lose 20 lbs and gain it right back. What I loved about this was the structure and research behind it.
I really liked the fact that the program was very structured and very specific. The research that was in the book was fantastic. My progress was much faster than I thought it would be. Like I said, I didn’t think I could do it at all!
This program was by far the best I’ve ever used! It gave me the right volume of exercises and gave me specific ways to get my macros right.
So many aspects of my life have changed because of getting fit. I have more confidence, great clothes are easier to find, I have more energy, and my marriage is better.
Honestly, the most important thing is that I know have the ability to try to inspire other people to do the same. I’ve told so many people that if I can do it they can, too! It is never too late to surprise yourself . Food used to be my addiction, now it is finding new challenges and ways to surprise myself about what I am capable of.
I would recommend this program to anyone and everyone! If you are truly ready to do it one day at a time and one meal at a time, Thinner Leaner Stronger won’t fail you.
I have a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology which helps me to understand that you have to decide in your mind first that you want to do this and then your body will follow that.
