How many months’ progress do your pictures represent? What were your stats for each picture?

 3 months

Weight: 180 lbs to 161 lbs

Body fat: 17% to 11%

What has happened so far on the program?

For years I’ve trained and always felt great physically but never experienced the visual results I desired. I finally committed to Mike’s cutting meal plans and the fat shredded off – 19lbs while continuing to gain strength in just 3 months time!

My stamina while performing cardio also increased. When I first began using the recumbent bike, my HIIT intervals were 45 seconds all out and 90 seconds of recovery. By week twelve I was at 2 minutes all out with 30 seconds of recovery time between intervals.

I was able to increase my strength while cutting on all lifts and particularly my compound lifts.

Bench press: 205 to 255

Squat: 225 to 280

Deadlift: 275 to 315

Military press: 125 to 160

What workout split from the book did you use?

I weight trained fasted 5 times per week while adding HIIT 3 times per week as dictated by Bigger Leaner Stronger. I used the recumbent bike as Mike suggests no more than 25 minutes per session.

All weight training sessions were kept to under an hours’ time. Repetition ranges were kept between 4-6 with 2-3 minutes rest in between each lift.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

I have always been skeptical of the many magazine articles, home videos, internet sites and fitness Gurus that are promoting the latest and greatest in building your ideal body. Most of their misinformation conflicts with one another and I was left disheartened many times.

It was hard for me to determine what the truth was or whether it was just a marketing ploy. The programs and diets I entertained didn’t produce the results I expected and just wasted my time and my money.

I stumbled across Mike’s website one day and he made sense right away to me. BLS became an immediate purchase and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

What do you like most about the program?

For me it’s the easy way Mike breaks down the information in BLS. He does a great job explaining all aspects of the program in simple terms.

The most helpful thing to me was the understanding and importance of consuming the correct nutrients and supplements throughout my training. This is something I have always struggled with.

All of the advice I read was contradictory and I would get dizzy trying to compute it. I found it hard to get on the right path with my training and meal plans. Mike makes walking down that path a joy with very fast results.

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

There is no comparison to BLS from any other video, magazine or group cross-training program I’ve tried. All of these programs wasted hours of my time training, exhausted all my energy, and emptied my wallet with marginal results.

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

At 43, I am in the best physical and mental shape in my life. The meals in the Shredded Chef are DELICIOUS, easy to make and my family enjoys them as well.

It has been a tremendous lifestyle change for me in choosing what I consume and how I train. I am proud of my accomplishments so far and am looking forward to bulking soon.

Who would you recommend this program to and why?

I promote Mike’s work and information to anyone that will listen. BLS is a simple no BS way to improving your overall health and physique.

The gym is my church and BLS is the bible as far as I’m concerned. I couldn’t be more grateful to have stumbled across Muscle for Life.

    Mike would you recommend fasted training when bulking or not point? Thanks

      And in addition would you suggest an alterations to BLS exercise or diet plan for people over 40? Assuming our health is ok just do it as is? Thanks

      The real question you should be asking yourself is, what would be the point of fasted training?

    • I don’t recommend training fasted when bulking. The goal of a bulk is to build muscle as efficiently as possible, so you should be having carbs and protein both pre- and post-workout 🙂

    Hi Mike, I’m Cary Actually, I’m your great fan, some question in my mind, I hope will get all my question’s solution to you, I want to slim my body so I would like to ask you which Exercise would be perfect for me and One more thing it will not be much more time taking so that I would Improve my body easy and quick, Would you recommend me any exercise like that.
