"This is hands down the most practical guide to basic dieting and training that I’ve found."

What has happened so far on the program?

I’m 28 years old and in 3 months using Bigger Leaner Stronger I dropped 22 pounds and got down to single digit body fat percentage!

During that time I was just cutting. My goal from the start has been to add a considerable amount of lean mass however after learning how the body builds muscle more effectively at lower body fat percentages I decided to cut first and give myself a fresh start with more margin for gain on my bulk.

I was able to regain a good portion of my strength I previously had from doing the Starting Strength program and Texas Method several years ago.

I got my lifts back up to 5 reps with 250 lbs on the bench press, 295 lbs on squats, 405 lbs on deadlifts and 155 lbs on standing press.

What, if anything, almost kept you from buying the book or starting the program?

Probably the biggest thing was just thinking I knew more than I did. I knew a lot when it came to training but was missing the fundamentals of dieting. My past bulks left me with too much fat while my cuts burned through too much muscle.

I ran through that cycle for years before I just started going through the motions without any real goals. Once I dialed in my diet using the principles of energy balance and macro ratios I saw results fast.

What do you like most about the program?

What I like most is how simple and practical it is. Following a few basic principles of nutrition and training you can make incredible changes in your body.

I didn’t know that it could be that easy to lose body fat while keeping lean mass. Having the flexibility to eat foods I like while dieting made easy and even… enjoyable. 🙂

How does this program compare with others you’ve tried?

The workouts were similar to those I had done in the past. I knew heavy compound lifting was the quickest way to change your body so it was easy and fun to get back in the groove.

Seeing your numbers go up every week is way more fun and fulfilling than burning yourself out chasing the pump with little results.

The dieting was much simpler and yet more precise than anything I had tried before. It truly is the 20% that produces 80% of the results.

Bigger Leaner Stronger lays out the fundamentals, simplifies the complexities and debunks the myths we’ve all heard about dieting. It was easier and more enjoyable than any other diet I’ve tried and when it comes to seeing results fast there is no comparison.

How has what you’ve achieved with your body changed other areas of your life?

I definitely have less attention on how I look, more self-confidence and less self-consciousness. More important than the physical aspect, it’s given me a renewed confidence in my ability to achieve all of my goals.

It’s reminded me that to achieve any goal it simply takes knowledge of the fundamentals, commitment to the goal, discipline, persistence and patience. There are no short cuts but a worthy goal is always worth the effort. Cliché, I know, but true.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I’d recommend this to everyone who has ever wanted to improve their body. This is hands down the most practical guide to basic dieting and training that I’ve found, and I’ve read quite a few.

If you are looking to achieve the body you want in the fastest way possible, start here.

A couple words of advice I would give is to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve. Stay dedicated and committed to that vision. Be disciplined in your actions and have faith in the fundamentals.

I used Legion Phoenix for the entire cut. I didn’t cut without it so I don’t know how it necessarily affected my energy balance but it absolutely helped curb my appetite and help me stick to my meal plan.

I used Forge for the last three weeks of my cut and it made a noticeable difference. I had some stubborn fat hanging around my obliques and lower back that I was having trouble getting rid of. Once I started taking Forge before my fasted training and HIIT session I saw immediate results.

I take Pulse before all my training sessions. By far the best pre-workout on the market, hands down.
